ALL NWC - Canada members are also NWC - International members. Eligible initiates must also be of good character and of legal majority where they live.
Initiates wishing to join should first inquire among their fellow initiates seeking an NWC member willing to stand as Sponsor for their application to join the NWC.
Initiates wishing to join, whose acquaintances do not include a member of the NWC, may e-mail the NWC - Canada at membership@newwiccanchurchcanada.com to request a Sponsor. Please make sure you type “Sponsor request” in the subject heading.
The Sponsor needs to know that the Applicant is an initiate. If not known to the Sponsor personally, the Sponsor MUST obtain a vouch for the Applicant.
The Sponsor provides the Applicant the NWC - Canada Bylaws, application materials, etc.
The Applicant fills out all forms, pays the first year’s membership dues by e-transfer to treasurer@newwiccanchurchcanada.com (currently $50/Associate Member–pays for both NWC-Canada and NWC-International Associate Memberships).
The Sponsor signs the Applicant’s completed form, and mails, scans, and/or e-mails) all forms to NWC - Canada Membership Chair: membership@newwiccanchurchcanada.com. Please make sure you type “Membership Application” in the subject heading.
The Applicant information is introduced as New Business by the Sponsor in the next membership meeting.
Barring any objection at the membership meeting, there is a 30-day period, waiting period to see if any objections are raised. If there are no objections, the Applicant is approved for membership, and is sworn at next possible membership meeting. If the Applicant cannot make it to the next membership meeting, arrangements will be made to accommodate the Applicant’s swearing in.
All new members join BOTH the NWC - Canada and the NWC - International as an Associate Members.
If the new member is an Elder/High Priesthood in their own Tradition, becomes a Seated (voting) Member after one year and a day of Associate membership.
Associate non-elder Members become Seated (voting) Members after three years and a day, unless elevated to Elder/High Priesthood in their own Tradition, or have been active in NWC efforts, when they may be proposed and voted to Seated (voting) status sooner.
New Wiccan Church membership contributions are annually renewable and are due in October of each year, on or before the 31st. Membership dues paid within 30 days (November) of that date to maintain a member in good standing. New applicants for membership should make initial payment only when all application paperwork is complete and the applicant has been sworn in.
Please note, that due to the exchange rate between the Canadian Dollar and the US Dollar, the amount each year may change to reflect the exchange rate for the NWC-International portion of the membership.
